Childcare workers, teachers, parents, grandparents, foster parents and volunteers who work with children, child coaches, counselors, camp counselors, baby-sitters and anyone who needs to learn basic CPR.
Welcome to the Childcare Provider overview. This is a Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course that will teach you how to interact with children/infants of all ages and how to prevent injuries from happening. You will know how to call for 9-1-1 and the chain of survival. When you complete this course you will have a strong understanding of basic CPR/AED (automated external defibrillator) and First Aid. You will know how to deal with medical emergencies such bleeding, drowning, eye injury, epinephrine pen, choking, seizures, shock, diabetic and allergic reactions, You will learn how to use your personal protective gear. Understand why we need to make sure the scene is safe for you and the victim. You will have a chance to practice with using a trainer AED and working with your own manikin and so much more
Traditional is for someone who has never taken a class before. This class is lead by an American Heart Association instructor combined with video-visuals and hands on practice. Upon completion each student will receive a 2 year certification from American Heart Association.

Part 1: Online CPR/AED which will take about 1 hour online, this is a self-paced course that you can start and stop as often as you like. You can access the online anywhere you can access the internet. Once you have the online completed you will need to be checked off with your hands-on skills evaluation with a Prevention MD certified instructor.
Part 2: Traditional First Aid If you don’t need First Aid “GREAT” just do the online CPR/AED and come in for the skills portion. We provide this every Thursday evening. The first 45 minutes will be the skills check off for CPR/AED, part 2 will be the Traditional First Aid course. This course will certify you in AHA Heartsaver, CPR/AED and/or First Aid for two years.
